A Big Day for “America’s Most Wanted Thoroughbred”

Icabad Crane took a huge leap forward this weekend at the Plantation Field Horse Trials in nearby Unionville, Pennsylvania. With partner Phillip Dutton aboard, Icabad made his debut at the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) level, competing in – and winning – his first CIC* event.

Sitting in fourth place after Friday afternoon’s dressage phase, Icabad and Phillip were clear on Saturday’s cross country, completing the course 19 seconds below the optimum time. Another clear round in Sunday’s show jumping clinched the win in front of a large crowd, many of whom were enthusiastic Icabad Crane fans.

Graham, Anita and Chappy Motion were on hand for the trophy presentation and victory lap.
