How Long Have You Worked At Herringswell Stables? I started in May of 2014 so it will be 4 years come 2018!
How Did You First Get In To Horses? I started taking lessons when I was really young, at the age of 4 or 5, but didn’t get my first camp pony until I was about 8. When I was 15 I started working for a vet in Unionville that had a few fox hunters and steeplechase/timber horses.
What Was Your First Job With Racehorses/On The Track? My first job “on the track was with Bruce Miller, who trained steeplechasers. After several years with the Millers, I briefly went to England to gallop and worked for Brendan Powell for 2-3 months overseas. After that, I came back to America and kept exercising hunt horses until I got a job with Graham through Lauren Mendenhall whom I had known from fox-hunting years before
What Is Your Favorite Racing Memory? My favorite memory to date is when Tin Type Gal won her first G3 in the Grillo Stakes at Belmont. She was always my favorite 2 year old and I was so proud of her!
Any Other Fond Memories? Probably when Guilty Twelve won an allowance race up in Saratoga against some tough company. I know it was only an allowance race but it felt to me like she had won a stake.
