Thomas Cook

How long have you worked for Herringswell Stables? Since June 2017.

How did you become involved with horses?  My Grandfather had his own racing stable and farm and also trained racehorses in New England. I spent my summers on his farm while growing up.

What was your first racing-related job?  Working on my Grandfather’s farm cleaning stalls, grooming racehorses and galloping.

What is your favorite racing memory?  Besides saddling my first winner as an owner/trainer at Rockingham Park, my favorite memories are attending Easy Goer’s victories in the Belmont, Travers, Whitney, Woodward and Jockey Club Gold Cup in 1989 with my Grandfather. We drove from his farm to Belmont and Saratoga for each race. Back then the Belmont, Woodward and Jockey Club Gold Cup were all at Belmont. Saratoga hosted the Whitney and Woodward.
