Multiple stakes-placed BRAT PACK returned to the winner’s circle at Delaware Park this afternoon in a one mile allowance on the turf. Her best friend Jorge Ruiz, who has been aboard for all but the filly’s debut at Laurel Park last November, had the honor again today. The pair were back in action after a third-place finish in the listed Hilltop Stakes at Laurel Park last month on Black-Eyed Susan Day.
After a slight bobble at the start, Brat Pack “was reserved along the inside fence, swung out five-wide for the stretch run to take aim and kicked clear well under confident handling.”
The 3-year-old Gun Runner filly is a homebred for Alex G. Campbell, Jr. Thoroughbreds, LLC. As we’ve said several times before, the late Mr. Campbell was a very special owner for Graham, and it’s especially meaningful each time we see those familiar red, white and light blue silks on the track. Brat Pack is out of his multiple graded stakes winner Ultra Brat, herself a very successful Herringswell trainee.
Congratulations to Brat Pack’s connections. Mary Venezie, we know you are thrilled!
