Smile Bryan 2016

A typical hard knocking war horse Smile Bryan raced until the age of 9 when he was claimed back by the original owners, the Cragers, at Presque Isle.  Unlike a lot of horses in his situation he had obviously been well taken care of and well loved.  The last trainer had even taught him to jump!

He is now in the loving care of Acacia Perko who hunts in PA.  The photo below is of his first day of arrival and he settled in right away.    Acacia had this to say…..

“Thoroughbreds are bred for heart, grit and athleticism – qualities that make them not just champions on the track, but brilliant partners in second careers.  Smile Bryan, a 2016 true war horse with over $350,000 in earnings, has embraced his next chapter with the same courage and class he showed at the races.  From winner to standout foxhunter, he’s proof that, in the right hands, a Thoroughbred’s story is just getting started.”

September 2025 – hunting already!!

Omg, has he taken to his new life!!

January 2026

Smile Bryan has moved onto the Princess Anne Hunt in VA.  He did well for Acacia but she thought the more forgiving terrain down south would suit him more.  He has gone to live with Center On The Moon who they have had for a couple of years and funnily enough, they were both owned by Bushwood Stables while in training with us!

February 2026 – Moon and Smiley are hunting together!
