Robert S. Evans’ homebred BLESS HER turned in a heavenly performance in her maiden breaking win at Gulfstream Park today. It was start number three for the 3-year-old daughter of Twirling Candy out of the multiple graded stakes winning Giant’s Causeway mare Irish Mission (ON). Trained during her career by Christophe Clement, Irish Mission won the La Prevoyante Handicap-G3, The Very One Stakes-G3 and the Glens Falls Stakes-G3 for Evans.
Jorge Ruiz, who rode Bless Her in her Laurel Park debut last November 22, was aboard again today in the maiden special weight going 8 1/2 furlongs on the all weather surface.
“Bless Her bumped with Tiz Practical soon after the start, raced off the pace three wide, advanced outside down the backstretch, launched a four-wide bid around the far turn, took over near the quarter pole and drew off under a drive.” They crossed the wire 6 3/4 lengths ahead of their seven rivals.
Congrats to Mr. Evans on this very impressive win!
