A Graded Stake and a Garland of Flowers for Affirmative Lady

AMO Racing USA’s AFFIRMATIVE LADY has been knocking on the door of her first stakes win, and she earned upper-case black type today in the Gulfstream Park Oaks Presented by FanDuel TV-G2.

Luis Saez gave the 3-year-old daughter of Arrogate a stellar ride on the way to their 2-length score in the 8.5 furlong test on the dirt. Per the TDN: “Quietly ridden down the backstretch, Affirmative Lady had about three lengths to find entering the turn and was ridden aggressively inside of a weakening Infinite Diamond to be in striking position turning for home. Pulled out into the three path, she found yet another gear and raced over the top of rivals en route to victory over a game Sacred Wish.”

Affirmative Lady broke her maiden in her last race on February 26, also at Gulfstream. Before that, Graham had already sent her out in stakes company; she was third in Aqueduct’s Busanda Stakes on January 14. Last December 3, she was an extremely game second – by a neck – to Julia Shining in the Demoiselle Stakes-G2.

Bred in Kentucky by Alastar Thoroughbred Co. LLC, she is out of the multiple graded stakes placed Stiffed, by Stephen Got Even. She was purchased from the OBS 2022 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training for $400,000 from the Scanlon Training & Sales consignment.

Huge congrats to her owners on today’s win, which earned her 100 points and marks her as a filly to watch heading towards the Longines Kentucky Oaks-G1 on May 5 at Churchill Downs.
