We told you her story a few weeks ago – SHE’SAROLLINGSTONE, the Fire Sale Yearling. She was making her third start for Herringswell today, and she followed up her second-place finish in allowance company at Laurel Park last month with a very determined win there today.

Horacio Karamanos has been aboard for all three of those outings, and he and the 6-year-old daughter of Bourbon Courage are clearly sympatico. In addition to one of track announcer Dave Rodman’s trademark calls, the Maryland Jockey Club chart laid out a brilliant recap of the race:

“She’sarollingstone, taken to rate off the pace, edged up two wide behind a trio nearing the far turn, eased out past the three-eighths, chased the dueling leaders four wide into the lane, made a grinding run under tight right-handed asks, joined the fray a sixteenth out, took over soon after and held sway.”

We heard from breeder Grace Merryman of Anchor & Hope Farm immediately afterward. “Amazing,” she said. “If you have a carrot to spare, please give her one from us!” We’ll give her quite a few, Grace!

Congratulations to Anchor & Hope and to owner John Davison on today’s score!
