A Rainy Day At Laurel

became a sunny day when it yielded a couple of Stakes wins.

Danilovna came off her winter break to win her first Stakes, the Dahlia Stakes for Bjorn Neilson.  Not sure if many over here remember the great Dahlia in Europe but every time I see that name it brings back fond memories.  Congratulations to Bjorn who bred her and traveled down from New York to greet her into the winners circle.

Ascend also came off his winter break to claim his first Stake, the Henry Clark Stakes.   He was saving his energy this week as every time I went to the walker where he is stabled to give peppermints he was having a nap!  Irish War Cry’s brother Irish Strait was only about three quarters of a length back in third.  Congratulations to Stone Farm and Madaket Stables.
