Sammy Jo is on a roll! The 4-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega (IRE) made it four in a row today with her win in Laurel Park’s All Along Stakes. Jorge Ruiz, who was aboard for her last start at Colonial Downs on August 24, had the mount again today.
A field of seven fillies and mares went to post for the 1 1/8 mile event on the turf. No Show Sammy Jo (GB) was “taken to rate in range while saving ground, eased out with a smooth run into the lane, forged to command inside Cut From Class nearing the furlong grounds, kicked away after some right-handed asks then held firm while solidly hand ridden in the final seventy yards.”
Bred in England by Fittocks Stud and St. Albans Bloodstock Ltd., she was a $214,611 purchase by owners Bridlewood Farm & Madaket Stables LLC from the first book of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2021. Her dam is the Exceed And Excel (AUS) mare Shomaria.
Congratulations to all of her connections, and to Jorge on another great ride!
