And Origo Makes Three

Another for the win column today!  Making his third career start, Wertheimer & Frere’s homebred ORIGO broke his maiden and found his way to the Tampa Bay Downs winner’s circle this afternoon.  Hector Diaz, Jr. had the mount in the 1 1/16 miles maiden claimer on the turf. The pair bested 8 rivals to prevail by a neck after getting caught four-wide coming down the stretch.

The 3-year-old gray/roan gelding (he’s still that sleek, shiny almost-black shade of gray) is by Medgalia D’Oro from the stakes-placed Tapit mare Westit (GB). And this is another family affair: Westit (GB) was also trained by Graham when she arrived in the U.S. after spending her first two seasons running in France.

Great job Origo……and congratulations to Wertheimer & Frere!
