Another Jewel for Queen of the Mud (IRE)

It was clearly Herringswell Ladies Day at Keeneland, and the magic number was two. QUEEN OF THE MUD (IRE) earned her second consecutive win, giving Graham and jockey Flavien Prat two wins on this afternoon’s card.

She was coming off her maiden breaker at Belmont At The Big A on September 21 to pair up with Flavien again today for a 5 1/2 furlong turf allowance.

Per the chart, “Queen of the Mud (IRE) tracked two wide and between horses, shifted from the four path to the six path in upper stretch, rallied to offer a late bid and gained an advantage in the shadow of the wire.” If I may paraphrase¬† – she came flying like a shot on the outside to overtake the (unsuspecting) leaders just in time to get to the wire in front.

The daughter of Kodiac (GB) – Jawlaat (by Shamardal) was bred by McCracken Farms and foaled in Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day 2020. So again today we congratulate them and her ownership group of Siena Farm LLC, Michael E. Kisber, Peter Deutsch and The Elkstone Group LLC!
