Another Passing Grade for Test Score

He broke his maiden there last October 4, and today TEST SCORE earned his first stakes win in the Transylvania Stakes Presented by Keeneland-G3. He has been a steadily improving horse since that initial score six months ago, earning stakes placings in Del Mar’s Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes (2nd) and Gulfstream Park’s Kitten’s Joy Stakes (3rd). The Kitten’s Joy was his last start on February 1. Manny Franco, aboard Test Score at Del Mar, had the mount today in Lexington.

With heavy rain and flooding in the forecast for the track’s 2025 opening day on Friday, the cards for both that day and Saturday, April 5 were postponed. Friday’s card ran today with twelve 3-year-old colts entered for the Transylvania, a 1 1/16 mile bout on the turf. Test Score stalked mid-pack in the three-path, floating five wide into the stretch before uncorking a strong rally to finish 1 1/4 lengths ahead of runner up Scipio with Maui Strong in third.

By Lookin at Lucky out of Joy of Learning (by Kitten’s Joy) Test Score was bred in Kentucky by Mrs. Jerry Amerman and carries Amerman Racing LLC’s familiar blue and white silks. Congratulations to them on another graded stakes win by a homebred!
