Mela does it!  Written May 22nd

In her 10th try Mela Dramatically finally got her win!  She’s always had a problem getting herself out of the gate with everyone else.  Today she tried to break well but the horse on her outside broke inwards and impeded her.   Edgar settled her into her stride, she sprouted wings at the half mile pole, circled her field and left them standing.  Congratulations to Jon Rubin.

Mela Dramatically was quite tired the next morning!

Three win night   Written May 21st

A terrific night last night at Presque Isle where we had three winners.  It started off with Cat’s Holiday winning her allowance race by 5 ½ lengths, next up was Kanagaro to win his race by 7 ½ lengths, and last but not least Sense To Compete winning by 3 ½ lengths.

Sense To Compete was running for the first time and didn’t have the easiest trip.   SENSE TO COMPETE was bumped leaving the gate by GULF COAST BREEZE, took back off the pace into the first turn, dropped to the rail for the run down the backside, waited patiently behind a wall of four horses through the turn, angled out for the drive and drew off under strong confident handling in a professional debut”.

Congratulations to all owners, George, Strawbridge. Jr., West Point Thoroughbreds and Earle I. Mack.
