Aruna returns to familiar territory

In her second start as a 4-year-old, Flaxman Holding’s Aruna made it 4-for-5 under the Herringswell flag when she captured the Grade III $100,000 Along Stakes for fillies and mares. Aruna kicked off her season in the G II Turf Distaff Mile at Churchill Downs on May 7 with a second place finish. Under Ramon Dominguez on Saturday night, the daughter of Mr. Greeley won by a comfortable 1 1/2 lengths.

Aruna was not the only stakes winner for Herringswell on Saturday. Earlier in the day, She Be Classy grabbed her first stakes triumph in the off-the-turf John Rooney Stakes. She Be Classy was given a patient and well timed ride by Joe Rocco Jr at Delaware Park. Congratulations to Mike and Nancy Mazzoni.
