Bad To The Bones: Delaware Destroyer

He made his first start at the same track, Delaware Park – and with the same jockey, Feargal Lynch – a year ago on July 5, 2021. Today’s maiden special weight came off the turf, but the 3-year-old Stone Farm homebred stayed in….and had a blast in the mud.

He and Feargal sat a menacing second to leader Victors Valiant with Angel Suarez, pressing the pace throughout. Positioned five-wide at the top of the stretch, he overtook the leader and just kept going, crossing the wire six lengths in front.

The gray son of Arrogate is out of My Dear Venezuela, by Wildcat Heir. And we know that owner Arthur Hancock of Stone Farm is a music lover, so he’ll appreciate this Tweet to Graham from a follower after the race: “Thoroughly good, mate…”

Congratulations on the maiden-breaking win!
