Boy Stakes

After writing how pleased we were with the girls I couldn’t forget the boy!  Stephanoatsee ran a good second in the Grade II Strub Stakes at Santa Anita.  After running his usual stalking race from towards the back of the field he came with his run and basically ran out of distance!  Another 1/8 would have suited him just fine.  He is such a big horse with a big stride and I’m sure with the extra distance he will get the Graded Stakes win he so deserves.

P.S.  In today’s Daily Telegraph there is an article about Frankel and the fact he is totally booked for three years!  “The German mare Danedream, winner of the 2011 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, is already booked in, as is the Japanese champion Vodka, and Oatsee, the former racehorse bred in America who is considered among the world’s finest broodmares”.  Oatsee is the dam of Stephanoatsee and of course Shakleford.
