Another Team Valor winner

Sweet Theresa was the second winner this week for Team Valor et al (Gypsy’s Warning won the Grade III Eatontown at Monmouth Park last Monday).  She won handily at Colonial Downs and just missed equalling the track record by two-tenths of a second!  Congratulations to them and good ride by Luis Garcia.{jcomments on}

Million Seller

Million Seller won at ultra-competitive Monmouth Park today.  She stumbled at the start, very athletically got herself together, had a duel in the stretch and won by half a length.  Congratulations to Dr. Masatake Iida who is in Japan.  Million Seller’s dam Million Gift is by their great late stallion Sunday Silence.{jcomments on}

Gypsy’s Warning Did More Than Win

Happy Memorial Day!

Graham is certainly having one!  I’m sure he didn’t know what to do first.  Greet his Grade II winner of the Sands Point at Belmont, Check The Label (where he is), or wait a couple of minutes to watch Gypsy’s Warnng beat the 2008 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Maram at Monmouth in the EatontownContinue reading

Fair Hill Races

There was a strong Herringswell presence at Saturday’s Fair Hill Races, with exercise riders Xav Aizpuru (at right top photo, below) and James Slater (shown aboard Sgt. Bart, #7) each having several mounts on the card.  Xav won the day’s feature, the $30,000 Valentine Memorial, on Arcadia Stable’s Diva Maria, trained by Jack Fisher.   Continue reading

I had a very relaxing day in the infield at the Fair Hill races with Maggie Kimmitt where she was photographing the races.  I could be totally antisocial and get a first hand look at the horses – just wish I’d had a beer and everything would have been perfect!  In fact at one timeContinue reading

Official retirement party

Better Talk Now celebrated his ‘official’ retirement today with a party at the barn surrounded by his barn buddies and about 100 friends of the human kind.  His stall was decorated with pretty flowers but he had to have fake ones so he didn’t eat them. Betsy the goat tried anyway, along with eating the carrot topsContinue reading
