It was a busy morning on the scratch front for Herringswell Stables. Just one of the two important scratches was our horse. Turf Melody was scratched from today’s 7-furlong Miracle Wood in favor of the March 6 Gotham at Aqueduct in New York. The Maria’s Mon 3-year-old breezed 5-furlongs Saturday morning at Fair Hill inContinue reading

Happy Birthday Blackie!

Today is Better Talk Now’s official 11th birthday.  He was born on February 25th, 1999.  He’s spending it the same as every other day, getting turned out in his paddock with Gala Spinaway!  Now I know why he wasn’t interested in the carrots I offered him this morning – he was looking for Birthday cake!

Hands and heels

That was all that was needed for Noah’s Dream today at Laurel Park.  He arrived a little too late on the scene in his last race but today he dictated the bunch behind the pacesetter.  Many congratu{jcomments on}lations to Mrs. Priscilla Graham of Monaco who hopefully watched the race.

BTN and Gala Spinaway

I couldn’t help sharing this video of young timer Better Talk Now (age 11) pestering old man Gala Spinaway (age 22). They play and bicker like this all day.  Although Gala Spinaway looks highly irritated with him they always stick together and often Spinaway instigates the play!
