I’m not sure if these horses here are having an ‘off the turf’ competition between themselves as My Mo doubled her win lengths from Point System last night by eight. She won her race by sixteen lengths! By Uncle Mo she obviously didn’t mind the dirt. Congratulations to Alex G. Campbell on another nice homebred.

Point System
You never really know how it will go when a race it not just taken off the turf but the track is sloppy. Not many horses, turf anyway, get to try it. After a couple of previous scratches due to her races being taken off the turf Point System took the plunge (no pun intended) […]
Spring Quality Wins Robellino Stakes
Not sure we’ve ever measured him exactly but Spring Quality has got to be 17 hands high and is a gentle giant. Very lightly raced, last nights Robellino Stakes was his first try in a Stake race and he won! He’s another homebred from Mr. Strawbridge’s successful families and congratulations to him.
First Time Starter Maya Malibu By Six
Royally bred by Malibu Moon out of multiple graded stakes winning mare Island Sand, Maya Malibu made it look easy today in her first start. She bided her time, circled the field around the turn and won as she pleased, which happened to be six lengths but could well have been further if Feargal Lynch […]
Sound The Horns Toughs It Out
He’s a four year old running in just his fifth race and six furlongs has been the winning distance for two of those races. Today he was stretched out to six and a half furlongs at Saratoga, went fast fractions while just off the pace and toughed it out with the second horse down the […]
Ticked Pink
Feargal Lynch rode a good race on Tickled Pink at Laurel this afternoon to win the second race of her career. Congratulations to owners Rebecca Galbraith and Burning Daylight Farms.
It’s The Truth
It seemed a long stretch with It’s The Truth and her opponent ‘duking’ it out but she was ahead where it counted – she certainly wasn’t going to give up. This was her fourth win and who is another that has been a good competitor in her races, just not always first! Congratulations to George […]
Miss Ella Impresses
Last to first on a rain soaked Saratoga course yesterday Miss Ella was very impressive in the Caress Stakes, winning it for the second year in a row (last year on the dirt). It was five and a half furlongs and as you can imagine they didn’t hang around, so for her to come from […]
Quidura so close!
I don’t usually post about horses who lost but Quidura lost nothing yesterday when JUST being beaten by the great Lady Ei in the Grade 1 Diana. She showed to everyone was a tough, honest competitor we know her to be while literally battling Lady Eli down the stretch – she wasn’t giving up and […]
Untamed Domain
A 2-year-old who is pretty close to our hearts at Herringswell as he’s by Animal Kingdom. Today was his second start and what a race! Congratulations to West Point Thoroughbreds – and AK! His decisive win received a good deal of press. And Maggie Kimmitt was on site at Saratoga so we’ve got our own […]
