My name for Check The Label who won the Garden City Stakes (Grade I) this afternoon at Belmont. Running for the first time in the Lael silks she didn’t disappoint. It also brings her into the elite as she is only the second favorite to win this race since 2004. She looked a picture and so alert and everything around her (even after the race). She is now the proud record holder of two Grade 3’s, one Grade 2 and now a Grade 1 – in her last four starts!

I was a little disappointed when the ground was listed as yielding but then I kept thinking to myself that yielding over here is good in England and a pretty fair surface for all. Many congratulations to Lael Stables.{jcomments on}
