Classic Vinyl Scores In Debut

It was a rainy, dismal day at Delaware Park, but CLASSIC VINYL showed straight away that she doesn’t mind a little mud. Making her first career start, she drew the outside post in the field of six 2-year-old fillies going six furlongs on the main track with Angel Suarez in the saddle.

“I got on her the other morning and I loved the way she worked,” Angel said after the race. “I told Annie (assistant Anne Sinchak) that she was going to be tough today!”

Classic Vinyl tracked a few lengths behind the two leaders down the backstretch, responding well to Angel’s urging to take the lead by the half-mile pole. She gamely held off a determined effort by second-place finisher Fancee Grace C to win by what the track announcer proclaimed “a lonnnggggg neck!”

By Maclean’s Music out of the Jump Start mare Delta Weekend, Classic Vinyl was bred in Virginia by Chance Farm. She races for the ownership group of Medallion Racing, Monkey Horse Racing and Masterpiece Thoroughbred Racing. Congratulations to all on a great beginning to her career!
