Divine Indeed!

In her first start for Herringswell, DIVINE HUNTRESS lived up to her name with an extremely impressive score in an allowance optional claiming race at Parx this afternoon.  Well touted coming off her win there on December 13 (in which yesterday’s winner, Misty Mauve, finished second), she went off as the strong favorite in the field of six 3-year-old fillies. Jockey Mychel Sanchez had her in perfect position down the backside, and when asked coming into the final turn she passed the leaders effortlessly and glided to a 12 3/4 length win, gearing down. As Parx track announcer Chris Griffin said as she crossed the wire, “She is special!”

It’s always a pleasure for our entire community when the offspring of former Fair Hill trainees come into the barns. Divine Huntress is a daughter of Lael Stables’ Divining Rod, winner of the 2015 Coolmore Lexington Stakes-G3 who was campaigned on that year’s Triple Crown Trail by trainer Arnaud Delacour. Divining Rod now stands at the Pons Family’s Country Life Farm in Bel Air, Maryland. Her dam, Thrill Seeker, is by Housebuster, winner of the Eclipse Award as Champion Sprinter in 1990 and 1991. Housebuster was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2013.

Divine Huntress was bred here in Maryland by Dr. & Mrs. Thomas Bowman, Ricky L. Buckley and Joshua Dreiband. She is owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Long Valley Stables LLC. Congratulations to all on a terrific win!
