Double Graded Stakes Wins

….within 10 minutes of each other. Ring Weekend became a multiple graded stakes winner this afternoon with his victory in the Grade 3 Saranac, the last stakes of the 2014 Saratoga meet.  It was his first win on the turf after a strong second in the Sir Cat Stakes on July 18, Saratoga’s opening day.  Congratulations to jockey John Velazquez and owners West Point Thoroughbreds and St. Elias Stables, LLC.

Just moments later, Ralphy Meahjohn’s Munirah and Trevor McCarthy triumphed in the Grade 3 Boiling Springs Stakes at Monmouth Park.  This was Mr. Meahjohn’s second graded stakes win in the past 10 days; his Rusty Slipper captured Monmouth’s Grade 3 Violet Stakes on August 23.  He is also the owner of Delaware Oaks winner Fortune Pearl.  It’s been quite a summer for the Meahjohn string!
