Eighttofasttocatch

Although Graham never trained him, Eighttofasttocatch was bred by Dark Hollow and Herringswell Stables out of their amazing mare Too Fast To Catch.  The mare was not regally bred but won 8 races herself and was a terrific producer with nearly all of her offspring winners.  The best of all is Eighttofasttocatch, by the indomitable Not For Love, who has won over $1,000,000 dollars and 18 races in 50 starts, 11 of them Stakes.  He retired today with a very impressive win at Laurel in the Jennings Handicap, winning by 10 1/2 lengths in the slop, a race he has won every year since 2012.    He also won the Maryland Million Classic in 2011, 2013 and again this year.  He has been trained all along by Tim Keefe who’s obviously done a wonderful job with him, and he retires into his wifes hands for re-training as an eventer.  It’s a coincidence too perhaps that he is retiring at the age of 8!  Been a lucky number for everyone.  Congratulations to all concerned.
