Making her first start since the Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf-G1 at Del Mar in November, BEACH BOMB (SAF) dominated the field in the The Very One Stakes Presented by My Racehorse-G3 at Gulfstream Park this afternoon.

The chart notes are brief and concise, stating that Beach Bomb led, saved ground and held clear to score by a half-length going wire to wire under Luis Saez. Today marked the 5-year-old mare’s fourth start – all in stakes company – since arriving from her native South Africa late last May. Before coming to us at Herringswell, Beach Bomb won consecutive Group 1 races at Kenilworth: the World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas and Cartier Paddock Stakes in which she defeated multiple Group 1 winner Princess Calla. Beach Bomb was also second in the Splashout Cape Derby-G1.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Beach Bomb is by the War Front stallion Lancaster Bomber, winner of the 2018 Tattersalls Gold Cup at The Curragh. She is out of Beach Beauty (SAF), by Dynasty (SAF).

Congratulations to her very supportive and enthusiastic owners, Cayton Park Stud!
