Circle N Thoroughbreds’ CHAMPLAIN’S DREAM made her own come true today, breaking her maiden at Colonial Downs. Seven fillies went to post in the 1 1/16 mile turf race, and Champlain’s Dream actually had to battle stablemate Baywatch Blonde, whom she bested by a neck at the wire.
With Victor Carrasco up, the 3-year-old Good Magic filly “set a well rated pace under steady pressure throughout, responded when called upon turning for home and repelled all challengers in a determined drive.”
Champlain’s Dream ran just once as a 3-year-old at Laurel Park last September. She kicked off her 4-year-old season this past June at Delaware Park.
Bred in Maryland by Glenangus Farm LLC, she is out of Anydayismyday, a stakes-placed daughter of Eclipse Champion Afleet Alex, winner of the 2005 Preakness Stakes-G1 and Belmont Stakes-G1.
Congratulations to all of her connections on her first win today!
