Five Towns (GB) Gets to Gulfstream Winner’s Circle

It was quite the productive day for offspring of former Herringswell runners yesterday. FIVE TOWNS (GB) was making her second start in the U.S. after coming to us from England last November. By Lord Kanaloa (JPN), the 4-year-old is a daughter of Guilty Twelve (Giant’s Causeway – Arkadina (IRE), by Danehill).

Guilty Twelve won the Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes-G3 at Delaware Park in 2017. Graham’s followers will very likely know that he has won that race an astounding nine times, beginning with the 1999 renewal with Bursting Forth and including last summer’s running with Sopran Basilea (IRE).

Jorge Ruiz had the mount on Five Towns (GB) yesterday in an optional allowance going a mile and 70 yards on the all-weather surface at Gulfstream Park. Stalking the pace on the rail, they had to swing five-wide coming into the stretch before going on to win by 1 3/4 lengths. This gave Five Towns (GB) her first win on U.S. soil and third career win overall.

The bay filly was bred in England by Merry Fox Stud Limited and runs in the colors of Merry Fox Stables. Congrats to them on her first win stateside!
