Score one for the house horse! Track announcer Dave Rodman said it perfectly – Flimsy had it all her own way today at Laurel Park. Herringswell Racing Club’s 3-year-old filly broke her maiden under Jorge Ruiz on the turf in just her third career start, leading at every pole. White up to her knees, she was easy to spot, winging ahead of the field with all that chrome!
It was another very hot day here in Maryland, and Jorge, who is very demonstrative with his winning mounts, took the offered bucket of ice water and doused Flimsy before entering the winner’s circle. The horse comes first, always.
By Violence out of the Not For Love mare Dress Up, Flimsy was purchased at the 2021 Timonium 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale. Congratulations to all of the Herringswell Racing Club partners!
