It was a somewhat troublesome trip, but FUNDING fought for her first win in her debut at Presque Isle Downs today. The 3-year-old Pennsylvania-bred daughter of Global Campaign ventured up to Erie for the six furlong outing on the all weather track with Pablo Morales aboard.

After breaking slowly, she had to check down the backstretch approaching the turn. Swinging four-wide into the stretch, she steadily wore upon the two leaders, fending off a very determined Morrigana to win by a neck.

Bred by Blackstone Farm LLC, Funding is out of Rutherford Road (ON), by First Samurai. She was a $250,000 purchase by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners from the 2024 OBS Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training. Congrats to all of the connections on this today’s first start/first win!
