Carrying very familiar red and blue striped silks, HENDRICKSON broke his maiden today at Presque Isle Downs in just his second start for Herringswell Racing Partners II, Yurie Pascarella and Carl Pascarella.
Antonio Gallardo had the mount in the maiden special weight going a mile on Presque Isle’s all-weather surface. The pair sat third early, maintaining the position into the turn before moving steadily toward the leader, passing that one and drawing away down the stretch to win by 2 1/2 lengths.
The 2-year-old chestnut son of Nyquist is cleverly christened. Out of the Birdstone mare Thank You Marylou, he is named after John Hendrickson, husband of late Saratoga icon Marylou Whitney. He was purchased by the partnership from the Ocala Breeders Sale of 2-Year-Olds in training in March of this year.
Congratulations to his happy ownership group!
