Hoofit

He’s living up to his namesake in England “Hoof It” who is also a good horse – the only horse that takes Mick Easterby to the races these days!  Our New Zealand bred Hoofit won the Phoenix Stakes (Grade III) at Keeneland today.  Not sure if we’ve won that one before!

As I explained when he won his race at Presque Isle, he had a horrendous journey to the States from New Zealand to be greeted by a tornado and then when he came to Fair Hill he experienced a tropical storm and earthquake all in one week!  Gil Johnston also reminded me that he was in the New Zealand earthquake before he left!

When he gets his peppermints in the afternoon he comes to the door with his ears back and if you didn’t know him you would back away.  But if you don’t he happily eats a peppermint!{jcomments on}
