Miss Lombardi’s First Winner

Former Herringswell trainee Miss Lombardi is now the dam of a winner.  Her first foal, Mount Coronet (by Cowboy Cal) won a maiden special weight at Delaware Park this afternoon for trainer Hamilton Smith and owner Kathleen Willier.  Ms. Willier also owns Miss Lombardi’s second foal, the 2-year-old Bullsbay filly Miss Bullistic.  Both horses received their early training in South Carolina at Franklin G. Smith, Sr.’s Elloree Training Center.

Miss Lombardi (Unbridled Jet – Chemise by Secret Hello) won the Maryland Million Ladies Stakes in 2008 and earned $301,670.  She is now owned by Graham and Anita and was recently pronounced in foal to Animal Kingdom.
Mount Coronet was bred by Graham, foaled here in Maryland and was named by Chappy Motion – who is also very excited today!  Congratulations to all involved.
