Miss San Gabriel Kicks Off a Three-Win Day

MISS SAN GABRIEL started off an afternoon of three Herringswell wins with her score in Saratoga’s second race, a one-mile contest on the inner turf course. It was career start number four and win number two – her second consecutive – for the 3-year-old filly by Temple City out of Here Comes Frock, by Artax.

She broke her maiden in her last race under the same conditions at Colonial on July 13, winning by an impressive 4 3/4 lengths under Jorge Ruiz.

Manuel Franco was aboard today at Saratoga, and had this to say to NYRA analyst Maggie Wolfendale after the race:

“I was on the best horse in the race, so I just let her do her thing. I put my filly in the best position, and she did the rest.”

Miss San Gabriel led wire to wire today, winning by 2 1/4 lengths.

She was bred in Kentucky by Hannah Windom and Gary Friedrich and is owned by a partnership consisting of Robert LaPenta, Madaket Stables and ERC Racing, LLC. Congratulations to all on today’s victory!
