Palm Beach Stakes (Grade III)

Every race Howe Great has run, whether it be on dirt or grass, he goes against Graham’s preference of having his horses covered up to relax them.  That isn’t his game and he’s so fast out of the gate the jockeys haven’t had a chance to try that anyway.  Again today he broke sharply and off he went.  He seems really happy bowling along in front and when someone came to take the lead off him for a while he seemed content with that too.  I was watching him closely at the start and he was nonchalant about the whole thing, the pony person even having to make sure he was keeping up at one point!  The last time I saw him was just before the winter when he went south and he was such a big baby.  What a difference a few months and a couple more races make.  Congratulations to Howe Great and Team Valor International for their emerging star winning his first Graded Stakes the Palm Beach Stakes (Grade III).{jcomments on}
