Photo Call wins Rodeo Drive (Grade 1)

A blistering hot California day didn’t slow Photo Call down in the slightest.  Since coming over from Ireland this time last year she has run consistently in Graded Stakes races, nearly always placed and finally pinning one down in her last, the Grade III Violet.  Today she made it into the top class ranks in the Rodeo Drive (Grade I), a ‘Win And You’re In’ race for the Breeders Cup.  If was of course a top class field but watching her all the way around on the firm, fast turf, she was having a ball and the distance of 1-1/4 miles put her in her element.  She had to wait for traffic but once it opened she shot through as if she was still only half way through the race.  Many, many congratulations to Mrs. P. K. Cooper who if watching tonight in Ireland probably isn’t getting a lot of sleep!
