With sadness we learned today that Ramon has hung up his riding boots.  Apart from the fact he is one of he best jockeys in the world he is a wonderful family man and I’m sure that had a lot to do with his decision to retire after his horrific fall at Aqueduct last January.  He is a friend to Herringswell Stables and hopefully we’ll still get to see him on a regular basis, but we will certainly miss being able to have him ride for us.  We wish him, his wife Sharon and their two boys all the best in whatever venture Ramon decides to undertake in the future.
