Already a Stakes winner on dirt including the Grade II Tampa Bay Derby last year, following up with a second place in the Calder Derby, Ring Weekend’s switch to grass has been a welcome addition. Today he topped his previous Grade III win on grass by winning the Grade I Frank E. Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita. Congratulations to West Point Thoroughbreds and all their partners.
It was also the first career Grade 1 win for Drayden Van Dyke, the 2014 Eclipse Award winner as outstanding apprentice jockey.
