Christmas Eve bookends for Graham today as NO SHOW SAMMY JO (GB) captured the nightcap at Gulfstream – the listed Via Borghese Stakes. And what a show she and Jorge Ruiz put on!

They “saved ground off the pace, advanced three wide around the far turn, seized command near the quarter pole and readily drew off through the stretch.” Track announcer Pete Aiello said “Ruiz is on a backstretch blitz with No Show Sammy Jo from the back of the field up toward the lead now” as they began their move, finishing up with an enthusiastic “No Show Sammy Jo has wished this field a Merry Christmas as she’s fleeing the scene in the Via Borghese – she’s six in front!”

This was win number six and the third stakes victory for the 5-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega (IRE) – Shomaria (FR), by Exceed and Excel (AUS). She’s been with Herringswell for her entire career, which began at Belmont Park on May 12, 2023.
