Second can sometimes be good

We’ve had a few lately and we are not excited but Proud Pearl’s second today in the Monmouth Oaks (Grade III) was very exciting!  This is the best race she’s run so far in the United States and was her first ever Graded Stakes start.  The only horse who beat her was the royally bred Wine Princess by Ghostzapper out of champion Azeri no less!  Proud Pearl had to overcome an objection but it was obvious from the replay that it didn’t affect the result and the Stewards agreed.  Congratulations to Pearl Bloodstock Limited who have the majority of their horses in England.  Oh, nearly forgot.  Proud Pearl is also a full sister to multiple Graded Stakes winner Proud Spell.{jcomments on}
