Serifos Scores at Delaware Park

Despite jockey Victor Carrasco losing an iron late in the race, SERIFOS earned career win number two this afternoon in a one mile allowance race on the dirt at Delaware Park.

Victor was back on Wertheimer and Frere’s 3-year-old homebred gelding by Into Mischief out of Soldata, by Maria’s Mon. He was aboard for the maiden-breaking win at Pimlico on May 14. The field of four raced tightly bunched throughout, with Serifos getting the go-ahead coming out of the turn. Racing in about the 5-path, the pair had clear sailing to the wire as they passed leader Jack A Rose. They finished 5 3/4 lengths the best, with Victor sitting nearly upright and skillfully staying on!

Congrats to Wertheimer and Frere on another checked box in the win column!
