It just goes to show that if you believe in your horse you have to take a shot. When I looked at the field in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf she was having to face today I was in awe. Graded Stakes winners from Europe and the US and Sharing had just won her maiden in August at Saratoga and a Stake at Laurel in September, BUT although it seemed she’d had it easy previously don’t be fooled, she has a LOT more talent and it all came together today.
Everything is so close to home which makes it all the more special. Shared Account was the barn sweetheart when she won the Fillies and Mare Turf back in 2010 (and not because she won, she was before!) We had a goat and usually horses need the goats but the goat wanted to live with her! She was bred by Sagamore Farm who owned her while she was in training and was recently bought by owners Sam Son Farm. She was also bred in Maryland.
I’m not going to say any more as the reporters will put everything much better but just want to say CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved who includes her groom, Mickey Hall who just adores her, says she’s the sweetest, kindest, easy going two year old you can be around, to the whole of the Herringswell team. None of this would work without you all.
Thank you and congratulations too of course to owners Eclipse Thoroughbreds and Gainesway Farm for winning and letting us enjoy her.
Trivia: I wonder how many trainers have trained Mother and child to win Breeders Cup races?
