They went off as one of the longest shots on the board at 13-1, but MONEY’S WORTH and Angel Suarez got to the wire first in a 7-furlong allowance at Tampa Bay Downs this afternoon, rewarding their backers with $29 to win.
Sitting just off the leaders in third down the back side, the pair took the four-path into and around the turn, giving them clear sailing on the way to a 2 1/4 length win. It was very clear today that Angel knew this filly could get there, and they did so with authority!
Timothy J. Rooney’s Shamrock Farm bred and owns the now 4-year-old daughter of Jimmy Creed and Tattoed Girl, by More Than Ready. Back from a year’s layoff, she was running for the first time since the Wide Country Stakes at Laurel on February 19, 2022. Money’s Worth broke her maiden in her second start on December 17, 2021 at Laurel Park. Today’s score was win number two in her four-race career.
Congratulations to Mr. Rooney on another triumph with one of his homebreds!
