HEAVENLY APPOINTED is living up to her name. One of the last homebreds for the late Mr. Alex G. Campbell, Jr., the 4-year-old daughter of Point of Entry has won her last three starts and is now two for two in 2024 with today’s allowance win at Tampa Bay Downs.

Kevin Gomez has been her pilot for four of her eight lifetime starts including all three of those wins, and their solid partnership was on full display this afternoon. The pair trailed the field early on in the 9-furlong route on the turf, making their move into the far turn. They were third and four/five wide at the top of the stretch before launching into a powerful drive to run down leader Excelerina (IRE) and win going away by 3 3/4 lengths.

It’s no secret that Mr. Campbell meant a great deal to Herringswell, and the entire team is thrilled to see this special filly enjoying her success. Our congratulations go out again to Heavenly Appointed’s connections and to Mary B. Venezie, Mr. Campbell’s long-time assistant.
