Anita Motion calls her “the sweetest, most ladylike filly ever.” But Crystal Cliffs (FR) ran like a total boss at Gulfstream Park today, turning on some serious afterburners to win the listed Sand Springs Stakes Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance with jockey Tyler Gaffalione. Out of the gate well, she relaxed down the backstretch until Tyler gave her the “go” coming into the far turn. Four wide into the stretch, she continued to overtake the field, moving clear by the 1/8 pole and motoring home by 2 3/4 lengths.

Now 5, Crystal Cliffs (FR) was bred in France by M. L. Bloodstock Ltd. and is by Canford Cliffs (IRE) out of Preciously (FR) by Lord of England (GER). She’s a lovely mare with a distinctive sprinkling of roan hairs throughout her bay coat and hindquarters…..which her rivals got quite the view of this afternoon!
