Trikari Shines in Secretariat Stakes-G2

There was a joyous scene in the Colonial Downs winner’s circle last evening as TRIKARI turned in another brilliant performance to win the Secretariat Stakes-G2. The New Kent, Virginia track was hosting it’s Festival of Racing featuring three marquis events formerly run at Arlington Park: the Arlington Million-G1, the Beverly D-G1 and the Secretariat.

Technical difficulties earlier in the afternoon delayed the start of the card, making a long day even longer. But Trikari and John Velazquez made it entirely worth the wait. The superlatives just keep piling up for Amerman Racing LLC’s 3-year-old star, and he is certainly helping advance his sire Oscar Performance to the forefront as one of the industry’s top young stallions.

Trikari’s Equibase page now boasts his 8-5-1-1 record and $1,303,530 earnings total. He is now a multiple graded stakes winner of the American Turf Stakes-G2 at Churchill Downs, the Belmont Derby Invitational-G1 at Belmont At The Big A, and yesterday’s Secretariat triumph at Colonial. Heady stuff.
