On a day that saw Herringswell runners listed on the cards of five different racetracks, Flaxman Holdings Ltd.’s Faufiler (IRE) gave us reason to celebrate with her convincing win in the Modesty Handicap at Arlington Park. Bred by her owners, she boasts a stellar pedigree: the 5-year-old daughter of Galileo (IRE) was produced from 2003 NetJets Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Six Perfections (FR).
She split foes after a ground-saving trip under Jose Valdivia, Jr. to win the $125,000 Grade 3 event contested at 1-3/16 miles on the turf. See the race replay below:

Less than an hour later, Bjorn Nielsen’s’ Real Smart and Edgar Prado won the Grade 3, $200,000 Robert G. Dick Memorial at Delaware Park. By Smart Strike out of the Daylami (IRE) mare Rose Diamond (IRE), 4-year-old Real Smart was making just her third start on American soil after a campaign in England last year.
She defeated even-money favorite – and former Herringswell trainee – Photo Call, now in the barn of Todd Pletcher. Follow the link below to the race replay sponsored by The Blood-Horse:
