Making her first start in this country – and her first since last November – FRIVOLE (FR) captured a beefy allowance at Churchill Downs on Thursday afternoon.

Ridden by Vincent Cheminaud, Chervenell Thoroughbreds LLC’s 4-year-old filly came out of the gate a tad slowly and then enjoyed a leisurely pace, coasting in 8th place down most of the backstretch. She gained momentum into the turn and took on the leaders with a powerful surge near the 1/16th pole to finish 2 1/2 lengths in front.

Frivole (FR) was bred in France by Wertheimer and Frere. She is by Anodin (IRE) out of the Dynamformer mare Houleuse.
