What a Weekend!

There’s nothing better than celebrating a win….unless it’s celebrating FIVE wins! Our runners really came through for us this past weekend, beginning with West Point Thoroughbreds’ TOSHIRO at Belmont Park on Friday. Making just his second start, the 2-year-old gelding by First Samurai closed strongly under Kendrick Carmouche to win his maiden special going six furlongs on firm turf.

On Saturday at Laurel Park, DANCING RAGS ran a very professional race to win her maiden special going a mile on the dirt. This 2-year-old filly is owned by Mrs. Phyllis Wyeth’s Chadds Ford Stable, who also owned and campaigned her sire, Belmont Stakes winner Union Rags.

Later on the same card, Peter Blum Thoroughbreds LLC’s ETIQUETTE and Feargal Lynch “eagerly pulled away” to win a six furlong maiden special by an impressive ten lengths. This 4-year-old daughter of Tapit was bred by her owners.

Herringswell had another winner at Laurel on Sunday when TOO AWESOME and Trevor McCarthy bested a field of 7 foes going a mile on the dirt in another maiden special contest. The 2-year-old colt by Awesome Again was making his debut for owner/breeder Alex G. Campbell.

On the same afternoon at Belmont Park, QUIDURA (GB)  dug in gamely under Junior Alvarado to win an allowance going one mile on the turf. Owned by Stiftung Gestut Faehrhof, she is a 3-year-old daughter of Dubawi.

Our congratulations to all of the connections…and great job Team Herringswell!!
