Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners had another reason to celebrate this afternoon when YATTA scored a very professional win in her sophomore debut at Laurel Park. Her last outing was Del Mar’s Jimmy Durante Stakes-G3 on December 2; she earned upper case black type for her third-place finish that day. Today marked her second win in seven career starts, and she has hit the board in all but one of those efforts, finishing fourth in her second race last summer at Colonial Downs.
Bred in Kentucky by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey, Yatta is by the stylish young stallion Yoshida (JPN), multiple graded stakes winner and earner of $2,505,770. On his resume are triumphs in the 2018 Woodward Stakes-G1 at Saratoga and Churchill Downs’ Old Forester Turf Classic-G1 earlier that year. Yatta’s dam is the Arch mare Final Reward. Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners purchased Yatta from the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $72,000 from the Gainesway consignment.
On their Instagram page, Eclipse posted “GSP & SP at age 2, Yatta announced her presence with authority in her Soph unveiling today at Laurel Park with a resounding win under a savvy Jaime Rodriquez ride while masterfully conditioned by Graham Motion. Onto the $1.5 million Dueling Grounds Oaks! #EclipseFillies #BelieveBig”
Congratulations to everyone at Eclipse….and on to Kentucky Downs!
